Second-ranked Kansas defeated top-ranked Oklahoma Monday night in a triple overtime thriller that may go down as one of the greatest games in college basketball history.
The Sooners visited Allen Fieldhouse for one of most anticipated college basketball games in recent memory, and everybody got their money’s worth as the Jayhawks and Sooners traded baskets back and forth throughout the 55-minute contest. Kansas would eventually hold on to win 109-106 at the end of the third OT as the fans erupted with excitement.
Oklahoma star Buddy Hield had himself a great day scoring 46 points and playing every minute of the game except one.
The biggest accomplishment of the night might have been the fact that Kansas’ basketball team scored more points in one game than the football team did all year.
