Adam Satterly has been slapped with 60 days in prison and found in contempt of court for calling Jefferson Circuit Court Judge Olu Stevens a “punk ass n*****.”

Satterly, who appeared in court Monday for drug charges, had his bond withdrawn after yelling the racist insult in the hallway outside the courtroom he had just exited.

Stevens promptly asked deputies to return Satterly to the court to answer for his actions. When Satterly was back in the courtroom, Stevens asked, “Is there something that you wish to say to me?”

“No, no, no, I didn’t mean it like that,” replied Satterly. Clearly unconvinced by Satterly’s embarrassed explanation, Stevens said “Oh, you didn’t mean it like that? You don’t speak those words in here. And that word particularly, you don’t use that word. I’m going to give you 60 days for having used that word.”

“I’m going to hold you in contempt right now for having used it in this courtroom. It’s disrespectful; don’t ever do it again.”

Stevens cut the sentence to time served after Satterly apologized Tuesday.
