Caitlyn Jenner is very adamant that he is not the spokesman for the transgender community.

“I always feel an obligation to speak up, although I am not the spokesperson for the trans community,” Jenner said during an interview with the Daily Beast this week. “I say that ten thousand times!”

“I’m only a spokesperson for my own experience.”

During an episode of his reality show earlier this year, Jenner’s new friends worried that he wouldn’t make a good spokesman for the transgender community because of his conservative views. (RELATED: Caitlyn Jenner Criticized By Transgender Friends For Conservative Views)

“If Cait’s going to be a spokesperson for the community, this is something she’s going to have to understand,” one woman told the cameras after Jenner argued that many people became dependent on welfare programs.

Jenner said he does enjoy being part of the community though. (RELATED: Caitlyn Jenner Named ‘Woman Of The Year’)

“I like exposing other people and listening to their stories and what they’ve gone through, and doing whatever I can to help bring this conversation forward,” Jenner added.

“I’m very happy for where this community is at right now,” Jenner added. “We have a long ways to go, but people are talking about it.” (RELATED: Caitlyn Jenner Still Voting Republican: ‘Democrats Didn’t Convince Me’)
