The Trump Organization threatened to end all current and future investments in the United Kingdom if they actually ban GOP front-runner Donald Trump from its soil.
“Any action to restrict travel would force the Trump Organization to immediately end these and all future investments we are currently contemplating in the United Kingdom,” the organization said in a statement Thursday.
According to The Hill, the organization also directly addressed Parliament, saying that “Westminster would create a dangerous precedent and send a terrible message to the world that the United Kingdom opposes free speech and has no interest in attracting inward investment.”
Trump has currently invested in two Scottish golf courses — Trump Turnberry Resort and Trump International Golf Links — totaling more than $1 billion.
A petition calling for Trump’s ban from the U.K. currently has gathered nearly 600,000 signatures. Parliament formally announced Tuesday that they are considering the ban.
