The San Jose Sharks weren’t going to beat the Detroit Red Wings, so as the final seconds ticked off the clock they just dropped their gloves and squared up.

The Sharks were trailing 2-1 with time expiring when tempers flared in the Thursday night game. Sharks player Joe Thorton sparked the line brawl by punching a Red Wings player during a scrap in the corner. (VIDEO: NHL Star Gets Body-Slammed With Headlock Takedown)
