Planned Parenthood executives discuss the ins and outs of fetal harvesting in this three-minute recap video released by The Center for Medical Progress Tuesday.

“Tell the lab [the entire fetus] is coming, so they don’t open the box and go, ‘Oh God!'” StemExpress CEO Cate Dyer says in the video, speaking about the reaction of the scientists who use the fetuses for research.

“I’ll mention this to Ian in terms of how he feels about using a less crunchy technique to get more whole specimens,” Dr. Mary Gatter, medical directors’ council president at Planned Parenthood, adds in the video, referring to the best way to abort the fetus without dismembering it.

“I wouldn’t object to asking [our surgeon who does the cases] to use a [vacuum] at this gestational age in order to increase the odds that he was going to get an intact specimen,” Gatter adds.

Researchers desire complete fetuses or specific parts for their work, but the fetus is often dismembered and its parts torn when the doctor pulls it out of the womb during the abortion. Planned Parenthood promises women who choose to donate their fetus to researchers that the procedure will not therefore be altered, yet would ideally send researchers complete body parts or entire fetuses.

CMP alleges Planned Parenthood doctors are altering the abortion method, even performing illegal partial-birth abortions, in order to preserve the body. The recap video is billed as “the most damning admissions” regarding fetal harvesting captured on film in a series of undercover video released by CMP.

“The federal abortion ban is a law, and laws are up to interpretation,” Dr. Deborah Nucatola, senior director of medical services at Planned Parenthood, says in the video. “So if I say on day one, ‘I do not intend to do this,’ what ultimately happens doesn’t matter.”

A woman who manages the collection of fetuses from clinics describes cases in which women have an abortion procedure within “three minutes,” because the entire fetus “just fell out” of the woman when she was put in the stirrups.

“When Planned Parenthood makes decisions about a woman’s abortion procedure based on what will serve its own tissue procurement needs, it is not treating her like a patient with rights and dignity, but like a harvesting pod,” CMP’s David Daleiden said in an emailed statement Tuesday.
