While live-tweeting the GOP Debate Thursday night, the people operating The Huffington Post’s Twitter-account punched out a few tweets about whether the moderators were going to ask candidates questions about global warming.

As the main debate kicked off, Huffpo live-tweeted this question: “Who thinks Fox Business is going to ask about climate change tonight? #GOPDebate”

Huffpost got antsy several minutes later, so it tweeted an update: “Update: Still no question about this.”

And of course, as the debate dragged on, the mega-blog site kept needling its followers, asking them whether the moderators will ever ask any climate change questions. At one point Huffington Post’s Twitter feed managed pushed climate change into the realm of national security.

And, of course, as the debate wrapped up, Huffington Post ended its night of debate live-tweeting telling its followers that the debate is almost over and “still no talk about climate change. — Huffington Post”

GOP front-runners, Donald Trump and Sen. Ted Cruz did eventually raise the name of noted global warming critic,  Obama mentor, and Constitutional lawyer, Laurence Tribe, because the lawyer once questioned Cruz’s eligibility to be president because he was born in Canada, not the United States. Tribe also testified against President Obama’s Clean Energy Plan in front of Congress last year. During his testimony, Tribe said the President’s environmental regulation essentially burns the U.S. Constitution, which, he said, “cannot be a part of our national energy policy.” The Huffington Post, for its part, ended its coverage of Thursday night’s debate with this tweet, showing what appears to be a bored Trump with a bemused Cruz in the background.
