Carson Volunteer Dies After Iowa Car Crash

Twenty-five year old Ben Carson volunteer Braden Joplin died Tuesday afternoon after being in an Iowa car crash along with other campaign staff. Carson has since temporarily suspended his campaign.

Due to do the severity of Joplin’s injuries he had to be taken to Omaha’s Nebraska Medical Center were he died at just after 4:30 p.m. local time. There were three other passengers in the van involved in the crash, but they are able to be taken care of at a local Iowa hospital.

Joplin had been traveling from South Carolina to Omaha, and Carson plans to meet with his family when he goes to Omaha to offer his condolences.
