Jamie Foxx pulled a person from a burning car after a wreck happened outside of his California home Monday night.

The 48-year-old actor was at home when a car skidded off the road, flipped and burst into flames. When Foxx realized the driver was buckled into his seat, he cut the seatbelt and dragged the man out of the car.

“Two witnesses that were near the collision scene ran to the burning, overturned truck in an attempt to free the driver,” police said in a statement to People Tuesday. (RELATED: Jamie Foxx Backs Quentin Tarantino’s Anti-Police Comments)

“One of the witnesses retrieved a rescue tool from his vehicle allowing the two citizens to break the window, cut the seat belt, and extricate the driver.”

A rep for Foxx confirmed it was him.

“Jamie didn’t hesitate,” the rep said. “He jumped out and ran to the car.”

Police said the driver was later arrested for driving under the influence. (RELATED: Carrie Underwood Thinks Fast After Locking Son In The Car)
