One Image Shows How Unprepared DC Is For Friday’s Blizzard

If Wednesday night is any indication, Washington D.C. is utterly doomed when Friday’s winter storm hits the city.

D.C. received a light dusting of snow Wednesday — far lighter than the foot or more expected in two days — but even that caused a total traffic meltdown, with cars taking hours to travel just a few miles on roads that swiftly became coated in ice.

But don’t take our word for it. Take it from Google Maps. Its traffic feature helpfully logged each of the dozens of traffic jams along the Beltway and beyond:
