Donald Trump released a new TV ad Friday aimed at portraying [crscore]Ted Cruz[/crscore] as a “total hypocrite” on immigration.

The ad, entitled “Clear Difference,” is set to run in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina and shows footage of Cruz being questioned by Fox News’s Brett Baier about an amendment that he attached to the 2013 Senate immigration bill. (AUDIO: Ivanka Trump Stumps For Trump In New Radio Ad)

Baier asked Cruz in a December 2015 interview, “Sounded like you wanted the bill to pass.”

Cruz responded, “Of course I wanted the bill to pass — my amendment to pass.”

Baier then interjected, “You said the bill.”

Cruz continued, “What my amendment did was take citizenship off the table. But it doesn’t mean, what it doesn’t mean that I supported the other aspects of the bill.”

“What is he [Cruz] talking about?” an ad graphic reads.

Archival footage of Senate testimony is then shown with the date May 2013 where Cruz claimed, “I want immigration reform to pass and that allows those who are here illegally to come in out of the shadows.”

Then more footage of the Baier/Cruz interview is shown where Baier asked, “That amendment would have allowed undocumented immigrants to remain in the U.S. permanently and obtain legal status. So how do you square that circle?”

Cruz responded, “Actually Bret it, it wouldn’t have.”

Then the ad cuts to Trump saying, “People want to take back their country. We want to do it in a humane way, but we have to have a country. We don’t have a country right now. We have people pouring in. They’re pouring in, and they’re doing tremendous damage if you look at the crime, if you look at the economy. We want to have borders. To have a country, you have to have borders. We don’t have borders right now.” (VIDEO: Trump: Ted Cruz Is ‘A Nasty Guy’)

“Ted Cruz is a total hypocrite and, until recently, a Canadian citizen who may not even have a legal right to run for President,” Trump said in a statement. “He didn’t disclose loans, pretending he’s Robin Hood, when he’s just another all talk, no action politician. Had I not brought up the subject of illegal immigration, an issue which Ted Cruz is very weak on, nobody would even be talking about it. I will build a great wall, and Mexico will pay for it.” (VIDEO: Trump: ‘I’d Do The Public A Big Favor’ By Suing Ted Cruz Over Eligibility To Be President)
