[crscore]Ted Cruz[/crscore]’s 7-year-old daughter Caroline rejected her father’s kiss Sunday on the campaign trail in Iowa. The altercation was filmed minutes after Cruz gave a speech for his presidency and one day before the Iowa caucus.

In the video, Caroline uses her fingers to flick the presidential hopeful away, and proceeds to yell, “ow, ow, ow!” as Cruz advances to give her a kiss.

While the interaction is not uncommon between a parent and child, Twitter users have chimed in on the video, claiming it accurately represents Cruz’s candidacy thus far. GOP affiliates and the media have criticized Cruz for being unlikable, while candidate Donald Trump has called Cruz “a total liar” and “a nasty guy.”

Cruz’s daughters were in the political limelight in December when they were portrayed as monkeys in a Washington Post cartoon. Cruz condemned the Washington Post for “attacking five year-old girls,” and the cartoon was removed.

Cruz currently trails Trump in Iowa polls, begging the question of whether Iowa voters will show Cruz the same cold-shoulder that his daughter did.
