Former Wisconsin football star and Heisman finalist Montee Ball was arrested early Friday after allegedly beating his girlfriend.

Police responded to an emergency call at Hampton Hotel and Suites in Madison, Wisconsin, around 3:40 a.m. where they found the unidentified woman Ball allegedly abused, according to the Wisconsin State Journal. (RELATED: Wisconsin Star LITERALLY Drops The Mic On Ohio State [VIDEO])

A police source told the Wisconsin State Journal, “The woman told police she had a dispute with her boyfriend. She said he put his hands on her, picked her up and threw her.”

The woman’s injuries were so bad that she needed a cut on her leg stitched up on. Ball was found outside of the hotel and taken into police custody. (RELATED: Police Close Johnny Manziel Investigation, No Charges Brought)

Ball was a superstar for the Wisconsin Badgers where he at one time held the NCAA record for most touchdowns in a career with 83. He also tied Barry Sanders single season touchdown record with 39. He finished second in Heisman voting after his junior year. (RELATED: College Basketball Star Gives Passionate Plea Urging People To Stop Using The N-Word)

However, Ball’s career was a disaster after being a highly touted draft pick for the Denver Broncos. He only scored five touchdowns in his very brief career at the professional level.
