A shocking new claim alleges that the Cleveland Browns lied about Johnny Manziel having a concussion to coverup the fact he arrived to practice drunk.

Mike Silver of the NFL Network made the claims during a Tuesday broadcast. He said in part:

I was with a Browns player yesterday. Johnny Manziel, going into what would have been a start late in the season, showed up drunk at practice on a Wednesday. The Browns lied and said he was in the concussion protocol. Let me repeat that: The Browns lied to try to protect, and I would argue enable, this irresponsible and very troubled young man.

The news comes on top of a police report that was filed by his ex-girlfriend Coleen Crowley claiming the Browns quarterback beat her so badly that she ruptured an ear drum. Initially the investigation had been closed by Texas police, but was reopened after a judge issued a restraining order that also stripped Manziel of his Second Amendment rights. It appears that future of the former Heisman winner ever play in the NFL again is very much in doubt.
