MANCHESTER, N.H. — New Hampshire voters who earn more than $200,000 per year favored Hillary Clinton over Bernie Sanders in a blowout primary loss for the former secretary of state, CNN exit polls show.

Sanders, on the other hand, won heavily among voters making less than $200,000 per year, the CNN polls show. He won a remarkable 71 percent of the vote among Granite Staters making less than $30,000 per year.

The democratic socialist Vermont senator campaigned here on eliminating income inequality and the influence of money in politics. His single-payer health-care plan would mean an 85-percent top tax rate, a nonpartisan analysis showed, and he has called for breaking up big banks and jailing bank executives who behave badly.

Sanders won with 60.4 percent of the vote, to Clinton’s 38 percent. The race was called for Sanders shortly after the polls closed Tuesday evening.
