Sen. [crscore]Patrick Leahy[/crscore] told CNN’s Dana Bash Sunday that [crscore]Mitch McConnell[/crscore]’s announcement that any move to block a Supreme Court nomination until after the election would ignore the Constitution.

“I think he’s making a terrible mistake,” Leahy said of Senate Leader Mitch McConnell. “He’s certainly ignoring the Constitution.”

“President Obama is doing the same thing President Reagan did at the end of his term. He nominated a Supreme Court justice who was confirmed during the last year of this term. The Democrats controlled the Senate… and the Democratic controlled Senate voted 97-0 in favor of president Reagan’s nominee. In the the last year of his presidency.”
