After the death of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia this weekend, Republican presidential candidate [crscore]Ted Cruz[/crscore] is running a new television ad questioning whether rival Donald Trump would nominate conservatives to the bench.
“Life, marriage, religious liberty, the Second Amendment,” the ad’s narrator says. “We’re just one Supreme Court Justice away from losing them all. … We cannot trust Donald Trump with these serious decisions.”
The ad includes footage from Trump’s infamous interview with NBC’s Tim Russert where the New York businessman said: “I’m very pro-choice.” (Trump says his views have changed on abortion and he is now pro-life).
Trump and Cruz are both fighting for the votes of Christian conservatives ahead of South Carolina’s primary on Saturday.
