Sources close to Nike claim the manufacturing giant is preparing to sever ties with boxing champing and Filipino Congressman Manny Pacquiao over recent comments he made on homosexuality.

According to TMZ, the source claims “there have been multiple discussions” about ending Pacquiao’s endorsement deal and it “appears to be heading in that direction.”

Nike has also removed all Pacquiao merchandise from its online store.

One of the greatest pound-for-pound fighters in history, Pacquioa told a local Filipino TV station that “animals are better” than gay people. (VIDEO: Guess Which Congressman Just Said Gays Are ‘Worse Than Animals’)

“They know how to distinguish male from female. If we approve male on male, female on female, then man is worse than animals.”

Pacquiao has since apologized for his comments.
