Al Sharpton Leads Academy Awards Protest: ‘This Will Be The Last Night Of White Oscars’

Al Sharpton led an Oscars protest in the streets of Los Angeles hours before the award show started Sunday afternoon.

The 61-year-old activist gathered alongside a group of protesters who were angry that no minorities were nominated for an Academy Award for the second year in a row. (RELATED: Reese Witherspoon’s Fans Criticized Her After She Said This About The Oscars)

“You are out of time,” Sharpton told demonstrators in a strip mall parking lot. “This will be the last night of an all-white Oscars.”

Marchers reportedly chanted, “Diversify the Academy” and Sharpton handed out white Oscar awards, Variety reports.
