Host of CBS’s “Face the Nation” John Dickerson says that if Donald Trump does well on Super Tuesday, someone like Mitt Romney or Paul Ryan could run as a third party.

Appearing on “CBS This Morning” on Tuesday, Dickerson was asked, “If Trump has a great night as is predicted tonight and Hillary Clinton does as well, does it increase the chances that we’ll see Mike Bloomberg enter the race, that we will see another Republican, whether it’s Mitt Romney or someone else enter on a third party ticket?” (RELATED: Super Trump Tuesday: Donald Trump Favored To Sweep Most Contests)

“I think the second option is more likely,” Dickerson said. “The people that I’m talking to are trying to find a way to stop Trump, are talking about running a third party Republican. Somebody like Mitt Romney, or somebody mentioned Paul Ryan. He seems to be the default choice in Republican politics. If you’ve got a problem, go to Ryan and get him to solve it.”

After Speaker of the House John Boehner announced that he was retiring, Rep. Ryan was called upon by Republicans to be the new speaker.
