T.I. revealed he was backing Bernie Sanders for president with an Instagram post Tuesday.
The 35-year-old rapper, whose real name is Clifford Joseph Harris, Jr., posted a side-by-side photo of quotes both Democratic candidates have previously made about race. (RELATED: This Huge Country Star Just Revealed The Republican She’s Supporting For President)
Hillary Clinton’s quote was from January 1996.
“They are not just gangs of kids anymore,” Clinton said at the time. “They are often the kinds of kids that are called ‘super-predators.’ No conscience, no empathy. We can talk about why they ended up that way, but first we need to bring them to heel.”
Sanders’s quote was from October 1991.
“If you want to get tough on crime, let’s deal with the causes of crime,” Sanders said at the time. “Let’s demand that every man, woman, and child in this country have a decent opportunity and a decent standard of living. Let’s not keep putting people into jail and disproportionately punishing blacks.”
In October, T.I. said women were too emotional to be president.
I think you might be able to get the Loch Ness Monster elected before you could [a woman]. It’s not right, but I’m just saying I don’t think,” he said. (RELATED: Here’s Who Kelsey Grammer Wants To Be President)
