A growing tradition in the hockey-rich state of Minnesota is athletes growing out their luscious hair for the hockey state tournament.

Minnesota has the highest level of prep hockey in the country and is generally considered on par with some junior league teams. There have been over 200 NHL players born in Minnesota and several NHL stars, including Sidney Crosby, played prep hockey there.
