A man in front of the U.S. embassy Friday morning in Berlin screamed he wanted revenge for Osama bin Laden after claiming he had a bomb in his suitcase.

According to reports, the man walked up to the Brandenburg Gate and showed a U.S. passport to the guard, saying he needed to renew it.

After being directed him to consular services, the man punched the guard in the face and the guard pinned the suspect down until German police arrived.

As he was handcuffed and pulled away he yelled out that a bomb was in his suitcase. The German news outlet Bild also reported he screamed he wanted revenge for 9/11 mastermind Osama bin Laden, who was killed by US special forces in 2011.

After closing the square around the Capitol, local law enforcement bomb experts checked the man’s bag and deemed it harmless. The man is currently in custody with German police.
