Florida Sen. [crscore]Marco Rubio[/crscore], who suspended his campaign for the Republican nomination for president Tuesday, told supporters in Minnesota via a conference call that Texas Sen. [crscore]Ted Cruz[/crscore] is “the only conservative left in the race.”
He has not made an official endorsement, at least not yet.
Of the race, Rubio said, “This election was entirely driven by national media coverage, in many ways. When the media narrative goes negative on you, and all the news is bad, it kind of knocks us off.”
On his own future, Rubio jokingly told supporters he does not “have any ‘Rubio 2020’ signs printed out or anything like that.”
However, he continued, “I remain open to public service in the future if the opportunity is right for me.”
