Milwaukee Brewers player Rymer Liriano was rushed to the hospital on Sunday after suffering a gruesome injury caused by a baseball to the face.
Liriano was beamed in the face from an errant pitch during a spring game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. He instantly dropped to the ground squirming around in an incredible amount of pain.
Brewers manager Craig Counsell provided a few details telling the media, “He’s conscious but it’s serious. I don’t know. He got hit in the head. I can’t give you many details.”
His teammate Jake Elmore said, “We couldn’t really see it from the field. They guys were saying that his nose was gushing blood and it really hadn’t stopped when he came in here.”
Liriano was immediately taken to a local hospital to receive medical attention but details on the extent of his injuries have not been revealed.
