Every year knife-maker Ernest Emerson assembles a line of custom gear, auctions it off, and gives the proceeds to charity.

This year’s auction runs from March 21st at 12:00 PM Pacific time and will finish at 12:00 PM on Saturday, March 26th.

The charity item for 2016 is a combination of a Resco watch and a custom Emerson Commander.

The watch was designed by R.E. Smith, a Navy SEAL, because he wanted to build a product that could withstand the rigors of special operations. It is a BlackFrog Gen 1 model featuring a Black DLC finish, matte black dial and a sapphire crystal.

The knife has been dubbed the “BlackFrog” Commander. All parts are hand ground right here in the USA. This one-of-a-kind creation features checkered micarta scales, titanium bolsters, titanium liners and lock, and a 154CM stainless blade. The blade is a substantial 3.75” with an overall length of 8.75” – to put it simply it is a beast of a knife built with the utmost precision.

This year’s charity is Operation Underground Railroad. They are no ordinary group of well-intentioned souls. These men of Operation Underground Railroad’s “Underground Jump Team consists of former CIA, Navy SEALs, and Special Ops operatives that lead coordinated identification and extraction efforts.”

They are not hampered by bureaucratic restraints and as they say, “It is time for private citizens and organizations to rise up and help.” Which they do with extreme precision.
