Sarah Silverman switched her support from Hillary Clinton to Bernie Sanders.
Though the 45-year-old comedian and self-proclaimed feminist initially endorsed Clinton for president, she made a video this week explaining why she now wants Sanders to be president. (RELATED: Will Ferrell Switches Support To Clinton From Sanders)
“Hillary had always been my choice,” Silverman said. “I’m a feminist. Democratic woman president? Yes, please.”
“But she takes a lot of money from big corporations and banks, the very people she says she’s going to stand up to. Look, I accepted it because I saw it as a necessary evil.”
“I’m not against Hillary, I’ve just met someone I have more in common with, and his name is Bernie Sanders.”
“He’s really popular with both sides, everyone likes him, and he’s not for sale, not playing the game and says what he means. He’s been on the right side of history at every turn—not along with history when it becomes popular, but before it’s popular.” (RELATED: These Celebrities Cheered Obama’s Move On Guns)
