MSNBC host Joe Scarborough says “[crscore]Ted Cruz[/crscore] will never be the nominee of the Republican Party” and that it will be “Donald Trump or somebody else.”

During Wednesday’s “Morning Joe,” Scarborough argued that Cruz is “loathed and he is loathed inside D.C. in a way that Donald Trump is not loathed.”

“Listen, let’s just be clear here: Ted Cruz will never be the nominee of the Republican Party,” Scarborough argued.

“Well, if he is, good for me,” co-host Mika Brzezinski argued. “No, you don’t have to even say that. Ted Cruz will never be the nominee,” Scarborough replied.

Scarborough then said that [crscore]Paul Ryan[/crscore] was a more likely nominee for the Republican party than Cruz. “Right now, [Cruz] is loathed and he is loathed inside D.C. in a way that Donald Trump is not loathed.”

“I mean, I know a lot of the establishment hates Donald Trump, but Ted Cruz is the devil that they know and they don’t like him. He’s not going to win the nomination.” Scarbrough insisted that Cruz is “a vehicle to stop Donald Trump.”

“So it’s going to be Donald Trump or somebody else,” Scarborough claimed.

Brzezinski interjected that Cruz was a “very poor” vehicle to stop Trump.

Later, Scarborough added, “I don’t know, maybe Ted Cruz is the most wonderful human being in the world when he’s in the backyard throwing baseballs with his next door neighbors barbecuing. I’m sure he is. [Cruz] is not though on TV a likable guy. Not a likable persona and he is loathed in Washington.”
