New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton, who was famously suspended for breaking NFL rules, has now come out as a vocal opponent of the Second Amendment.

“I hate guns,” Payton told USA Today in an interview following the murder of former Saints player Will Smith during a road rage incident. (RELATED: Alleged Murderer Accomplice Calls For Mandatory 25 Year Prison Sentence For Owning A Gun)

“I’ve heard people argue that everybody needs a gun,” he said. “That’s madness. I know there are many kids who grow up in a hunting environment. I get that. But there are places, like England, where even the cops don’t have guns.” (SLIDESHOW: These Athletes Are Gun-Loving Americans)

The anti-gun coach was suspended for an entire season after it came to light that he allowed a bounty scheme to operate under his watch that rewarded players for seriously injuring their opponents. (SLIDESHOW: These 10 Celebrities Got Rich From Violent Movies, But They Hate The Second Amendment)
