Speaking to a group of children at the White House for “Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day,” the first lady said it’s “kind of uncomfortable” to see herself on the screen. (RELATED: David Spade: The Obama Family Is ‘Thirsty’ For Attention)

“It’s kind of uncomfortable,” Obama said. “Like oh, I don’t like the way I looked. Oh, I sounded funny.”

She said she avoids it when she can.

One of the children then asked Obama if she ever had braces as a child.

“I wish I did,” she said.

“My bottom teeth stick out a little bit. And if I had had braces, they would be fixed by now. So for all of you who don’t like your braces, you will appreciate it when you’re my age.” (RELATED: Michelle Obama: White House Is ‘A Really Nice Prison’)
