On April 25, 1976, Dodgers great Rick Monday made one of the greatest plays in MLB history.
In the bottom of the fourth inning in a game against the Cubs, the centerfielder — who spent six years in the Marine Corps. Reserve — snatched the Stars & Bars out of the clutches of two would-be-arsonists, eliciting a thunderous standing ovation from the crowd.
