Ben Carson told the ladies on “Outnumbered” that if a person is ambitious they shouldn’t be president.

On Tuesday, the former Republican candidate for president and now Donald Trump supporter was responding to a question about news that Ted Cruz and John Kasich were collaborating in hopes of stopping Trump.

“People who are very ambitious and who will do whatever it takes in order to achieve their goals are people that probably should not be President of the United States,” Carson said on Fox News.

One of the host on the show, Melissa Francis, responded “That’s the only way to become president!”

This is not the first time Carson has made curious comments as a Trump surrogate. As Politico has noted, he one time even admitted there was someone better than his candidate.

“Are there better people? Probably. But one of the things that we have to do is we have to broaden our pool from which we select our leaders,” Carson said.
