During a phone interview with the Associated Press Monday night, L. Londell McMillan said Prince’s death was “a complete shock.”

“He said he was doing perfect,” McMillan said. “He said, ‘OK, I’ll call you soon.'” (RELATED: Source Says Prince Worked ‘154 Hours Straight’ With No Sleep Before He Died)

McMillan said that he was “not on any drugs that would be any cause for concern.”

“People use medication,” he said. “The question is, are you on meds in a dangerous way? Everybody who knows Prince knows he wasn’t walking around drugged up. That’s foolish. No one ever saw Prince and said, ‘He looks high.’ It wasn’t what he was about.”

“I’m shocked and overwhelmed.” (RELATED: PRINCE — DEAD AT 57)

After his death, multiple sources said that he was treated for a drug overdose when his plane made an emergency landing in Illinois six days earlier — not the flu like his reps said.
