Amy Schumer said journalists are misrepresenting her anti-gun sketch.

In a sketch titled “Welcome To The Gun Show,” the 34-year-old comedian played a home shopping host who will sell firearms to anyone who has $39.95 and a phone, but in a series of tweets Friday, Schumer said the sketch was meant to “end gun violence.” (RELATED: Amy Schumer Characterizes Gun Owners As Reckless, Crazy In New Sketch)

“Hey journalists thanks for all the heat from last nights #endgunviolence message,” Schumer tweeted. “Please use the term ‘gun safety’ instead of ‘gun control.'” (RELATED: Amy Schumer Wants More Restrictive Gun Control Laws After ‘Trainwreck’ Shooting)

“We’re not interested in controlling law abiding citizens’ guns – just keeping guns out of the hands of dangerous people #gunsafety.”

She took things one step further on Instagram.
