Hillary Clinton laughed heartily about her husband’s sex scandals during an interview on Wednesday when asked about the possibility that Donald Trump will make references to them during the presidential campaign.
“There are Democrats who are just worried about you against Trump, that you’re not ready for whatever he may throw at you, that he’s — he’s brought up a lot of stuff about a lot of people that nobody could have predicted,” CNN’s Anderson Cooper said to Clinton during an interview.
“He’s made references to your marriage, to your husband.”
Clinton responded with her trademark laugh.
“Well, he’s not the first one, Anderson,” Clinton responded. “I can’t say this often enough. If he wants to go back to the playbook of the 1990s, if he wants to follow in the foot steps of those who have tried to knock me down and take me out of the political arena, I’m more than happy to have him do that.”
Trump has shown a willingness to go after the Clintons for the former president’s various marital affairs and sexual assault and harassment accusations. The presumptive GOP nominee has called the former secretary of state a “great enabler” because she has defended her husband throughout the scandals.
