Former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney has no plans to attend the July Republican convention joining Sen. [crscore]John McCain[/crscore], George W. Bush, and George H.W. Bush with the decision.

Donald Trump is now the presumptive Republican nominee and this has frustrated members of the GOP establishment he trashed throughout the race.

“Governor Romney has no plans to attend convention,” a Romney aide told The Washington Post. Romney sharply criticized Trump in a March speech during which he said, “dishonesty is Donald Trump’s hallmark.”

Trump told the Post in April he doesn’t care if Romney attends the convention, adding, “he can be there if he wants.”

Bob Dole is the only living Republican presidential nominee planning to attend the convention in Cleveland. Former President H.W Bush his declining health as the reason he is not attending the event, The Hill reports.

In all but one of past five Republican conventions the prior nominee was present to deliver a speech. George W. Bush was absent in 2008 due to a hurricane.
