“It is your final day on the show,” she continued. “We all came to celebrate you. We want to remind you that there’s a run on discounted merchandise at the kiosk,” she joked.
The episode Friday featured flashbacks from Strahan’s time there since 2012.

“I didn’t anticipate being here at this moment but it’s here and we’re gonna enjoy it,” Strahan said. “I’m not dying.”
Strahan’s exit has been a tumultuous one. Once Ripa found out he was leaving only hours before the rest of the world, she said she felt “disrespected and humiliated” and took a week off work.
Strahan joins “Good Morning America” this fall.
