Lady Gaga says she will not be starring in the upcoming biography movie about Dionne Warwick, despite reports to the contrary.
On Friday, a spokesperson for the singer sent out a statement that said she was not involved in the movie despite what was being reported in the news, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
“She is not attached and will not appear in this project,” she said, adding that Lady Gaga was completely unaware of the project.
At the Cannes Film Festival on Friday, it had been announced that Lady Gaga along with Olympia Dukakis, Danny Glover, and Destiny Child’s alumni LeToya Luckett had been cast for the film Dionne, about the singer’s life.
Gaga was reportedly to be cast in the role of Cilla Black, Warwick’s “musical nemesis.” When reporters asked Warwick why Black was considered the “villain,” she answered them, “Because she stole my music!”
