A reader who read my story on Oliver Darcy leaving TheBlaze for Business Insider apparently thinks I should keep my opinions to myself.
Here’s how it all played out.
Reader Brad Gentry writes:
“I am writing you in reference to your article on Oliver Darcy resigning from The Blaze. If you are going to share your opinions, then you should not call yourself a reporter. Specifically, ‘ultra-annoying Ted Cruz’ and ‘fingers crossed for a complete meltdown’. I respect your right to your own opinion, but your disdain for Glenn Beck and Senator Cruz does not belong in your reporting. It is sad what passes for journalism today.”
A note to Brad: If you’re sad, Brad, get Kleenex, go to the bathroom and cry your eyes out.
My actual response to him:
Excuse me, Brad. But since when the fuck are you my editor? I write a blog that is highly opinionated. And I will insert my opinions where I see fit…and I will also break news. Thanks for your note! Love you!
He replied:
At the top of your “blog”, it states that you are a reporter. Stay classy Betsy!
