Stephen Colbert said Donald Trump and the Republican National Convention will be the final scene for America.

On Thursday night, the talk show host of the “Late Show” told his audience all the ways that the Republican presidential candidate has basically run his campaign like a reality show, adding it’s all going to mean the end for the country.

“This summer could see the most exciting Republican convention ever,” he said. Adding, “As Trump’s top campaign advisor explained ‘It’s not like they are treating this like some sort of silly reality show.'”

The talk show host then played a clip of the candidate’s campaign advisor, Paul Manafort, saying, “This is the ultimate reality show.” And Manafort continued, “We put it in ways that we hope will be entertaining but, more importantly, informative.”

Colbert responded that yes he agreed reality shows are entertaining, but mocked the idea that they are informative.

“And one of the ways Donald Trump is treating the convention like a reality show is holding off announcing his running-mate,” he said. Adding, “It’s an apt metaphor. Because this year’s Republican convention will be the series finale of America.”

“I can’t wait to see.”he added. “I can’t wait to see the in memoriam reel for liberty.”
