Donald Trump suggested that the reason Hillary Clinton wants to put Bill Clinton in charge of the economy if she becomes the president is so that “she can keep her eye on him.”
Appearing on Fox News’s “Fox & Friends” on Friday, Trump wondered if Bill Clinton would “bring the ‘Energizer’ with him.”
Later in the interview, host Steve Doocy asked, “Don’t you think [Hillary] is saying ‘I’m going to put [Bill] in charge of [the economy]’ because people like him more than they like her?”
“Well, maybe she’s saying that or maybe she just wants him around the White House so she can keep her eye on him,” Trump replied, as noted by Politico.
In former Secret Service agent Ronald Kessler’s book, he writes that the Secret Service gave Clinton’s mistress the nickname “Energizer.”
According to media reports, “Energizer” is actually a neighbor of the Clintons in Chappaqua, New York, named Julie Tauber McMahon. The 56-year old divorcee’s company was the beneficiary of $2 million from the Clinton Foundation. (RELATED: Report: Bill Clinton Directed Millions To Company Owned By Attractive ‘Family Friend’)
Wednesday, Trump tweeted, “Crooked Hillary said her husband is going to be in charge of the economy. If so, he should run,not her. Will he bring the “energizer” to D.C.?” (RELATED:Trump Asks If Bill Will Bring ‘Energizer’ To DC)
