During an interview with Fox News, Suzanne Mendonca said she was told she needed to gain weight before she could be on the show.

“They told me if I wanted to be on their reality show, that I would need to gain an extra 20 to 40 pounds,” Mendonca said. “The bigger the weight, the more numbers you’ll see [drop] on the scale.”

“I would train every single day and vomit on the set. They said, ‘Great. You’ll lose even more weight now.”

She said she believed the show’s producers wanted her to starve.

“Bob Harper would tell me eat 800 calories. They created eating disorders.”

She said she quit her job as a police officer to join the show.

“I had a wonderful career [and] basically the ‘Biggest Loser’ took it all away,” she said. “Everybody thinks that the show gave wonderful tools, but they did not.”

During an interview with the New York Post, she said the show was worse than Hurricane Katrina.
