Police charged a Bronx man with manslaughter after he killed another man attempting to rape his wife late Monday night.

According to the NYPD, 51-year-old Mamadou Diallo received a phone call from his family just after 10:00 p.m. alerting him to his wife’s attacker.

Diallo’s son told authorities that the suspect — 43-year-old Earl Nash — knocked on the family’s front door, and when Diallo’s wife let him inside, he repeatedly struck her and ripped off her clothes.

The exact details of the attack are still unknown.

NBC New York claims Diallo’s son called his father — who was standing outside their building at the time of the attack — while ABC New York stated Diallo’s wife called him on his cell phone after escaping Nash’s grasp.

After rushing inside, Diallo fought of Nash, whom was later taken to Lincoln Hospital and eventually pronounced dead from “severe trauma to the head and body.”

Diallo’s son told CBS that, “any husband would do the same thing as what he did.”

“I’m mad because 20 minutes and nobody heard the commotion that was going on? Nobody came in to see what was going on,” he added. “They just came at the end when my dad was fighting with the guy. It was too late.”

Diallo’s case is still under investigation by police.
