Military raids on Boko Haram often yield vast quantities of Viagra and other sexual enhancing drugs used to sustain the rape of women and young girls enslaved for being non-believers, an expert has revealed.
Yusuf Mohammed, an Islamic Scholar who assists in intelligence gathering on Boko Haram, told The Daily Beast, “because they sleep with so many girls in a day, they are forced to depend on sex enhancing drugs so as to last long in the act, and a condom when they suspect a woman has sexually transmitted disease.”
Mr. Mohammed elaborated to The Daily Beast that “The aim is so that they’ll be able to impregnate as many girls as possible and bear children who will continue in the jihad.”
The promise of rape and concubines is a major recruiting tool for groups like Boko Haram and the Islamic State. Nigerian Military spokesman Sani Usman released a statement saying that religious books and prayer materials are rarely found during raids, but they always find “condoms, and all sorts of drugs including sex enhancing ones.”
Nigerian Borno State Governor Kashima Shettima told reporters, “these people have a certain spiritual conviction that any child they father will grow to inherit their ideology whether they live with the children or not”. Shettima stated that Boko Haram terrorists will often place wagers on who can have sex for the longest period of time.
Boko Haram terrorists reportedly buy Viagra and other sex enhancing drugs with the proceeds from selling stolen cattle. In one instance members of the Nigerian military were arrested and confessed to providing Boko Haram with Viagra.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs estimated earlier this year that over two thousand girls have been abducted by Boko Haram and subjected to rape and sexual abuse. Many of these young girls contract sexually transmitted disease and become pregnant in captivity.
Mr. Mohammed warned to The Daily Beast, “The more girls they kidnap, the more sex enhancing drugs they’ll need.”
