Sean Hannity beat out Megyn Kelly in the key 25-54 demographic in the month of May as part of his ratings surge.
According to Nielsen Media Research, Hannity received 2,078,000 viewers (up 35 percent) with 460,000 viewers in the key 25-54 demographic, (a 21 percent increase) in the month of May. Hannity had the biggest year-to-year increases for all of FNC.
Bill O’Reilly still continued his dominance, raking in three million total viewers (up 25 percent), with 492,000 viewers in the key 25-54 demographic.
Kelly’s show, “The Kelly File” saw a 16 percent increase in total viewers, topping out at 2,500,000, with 456,000 viewers in the 25-54 demo.
Overall, Fox News was ranked number one in total day among all basic cable channels in May. That’s the third month in 2016 that they ranked number one among all basic cable networks in total day.
[dcquiz] In primetime however, FNC was behind both TNT and ESPN which have been busy airing the NBA playoffs. For context, CNN was 13 and MSNBC was 15 in primetime in May.
However, FNC is up 26 percent in total viewers (2,025,000) beating out both MSNBC and CNN combined in total viewers. FNC is also up 17 percent in the key 25-54 demographic compared to the same time last year.
Even Donald Trump has noticed Hannity’s ratings bump.

Part of Hannity’s boost in ratings came from extra hours of coverage on two primary nights on May 3 (Trump won Indiana and Sen. Ted Cruz dropped out) and May 10.
