The billionaire owner of the Dallas Mavericks, Mark Cuban, says he doesn’t care about seeing Donald Trump’s tax returns because they are “not really going to be indicative of all that much.”

Appearing on CNN’s “New Day” on Monday, host Chris Cuomo asked, “Do you believe Donald Trump is not turning over his taxes because he’s being audited?”

“No. Of course not,” Cuban said. “Look, I know what my taxes look like. And the honest answer is I don’t even know how much I pay in terms of income tax percentage. I don’t know how much I’ve made in any of the last ten years. When it’s time to turn in my taxes, my accountant sets up a table with about 50 different stacks and I just run through and it takes me about 45 minutes to sign them and I sign the signature page. I’m sure knowing Donald, he knows what’s on them. But they’re not really going to be indicative of all that much. I don’t care about seeing his tax returns, honestly.”

“So if you don’t care and that’s the way the process works, why don’t you believe what Trump is saying, which is, ‘I’m being audited. My lawyers say don’t show what’s being audited, so I’m not showing it.'”

“Because that’s nonsense,” Cuban replied. “It doesn’t matter, there’s nothing to preclude you from showing your taxes, you own them. That’s your property and the fact that you’re being audited, if he’s like me, he gets audited every year. The process is the same and it’s not really going to change the outcome of anything.”

Cuban went on to say the he gets “audited every year because I have a lot of money and, presumably, so does he. And if you work for the IRS and want to bring more money into the Treasury, you go where the money’s at.”
