Renee Zellweger has explained that she took six years off from making movies because she was tired and wasn’t taking good care of herself.

In a Vogue U.K. article, the 47-year-old actress talked about her need to recharge and take care of herself after the toil of filming movies for over a decade caught up with her. (RELATED: What In The Hell Happened To Renee Zellweger [PHOTOS])

“I was fatigued and wasn’t taking the time I needed to recover between projects, and it caught up with me,” she said. “I got sick of the sound of my own voice: it was time to go away and grow up a bit.”

“I found anonymity, so I could have exchanges with people on a human level and be seen and heard, not be defined by this image that precedes me when I walk into a room,” she added. “You cannot be a good storyteller if you don’t have life experiences, and you can’t relate to people.”

Zellweger’s coming back with a bang with several films starting in the fall. The first with the next movie in the Bridget Jones Diary series with “Bridget Jones Baby.” She follows that up with a thriller working alongside Keanu Reeves in “The Whole Truth,” and another drama in “Same Kind of Different as Me,” according to another report.
