Sen. Elizabeth Warren will soon give her endorsement to Hillary Clinton, and is open to serving as Clinton’s running mate if asked, it emerged Wednesday night.

The endorsement was first reported by Reuters, citing unnamed sources who said the endorsement would be delivered within a week or two. Warren’s declaration would end a lengthy period of neutrality for the Massachusetts senator, who was the only Democratic woman in the Senate to not back Clinton against Sen. Bernie Sanders.

Reuters also reported that while Warren is “not currently interested” in being Clinton’s running mate, she wouldn’t rule out such a role.

The endorsement may help win over Democrats who strongly backed Sanders and have yet to reconcile themselves with Clinton’s victory. Warren, a fierce critic of Wall Street, is very popular with progressive Democrats, many of whom hoped she would challenge Clinton for the nomination.

Recently, Warren has also emerged as one of the most prominent critics of presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump. Warren has aggressively attacked Trump on both Twitter and Facebook, causing Trump to respond by ridiculing “Goofy Elizabeth” Warren for falsely claiming American Indian heritage early in her career.
