Hillary Clinton’s suggestion to Donald Trump on Twitter that he “delete” his account spurred an avalanche of mockery on Thursday because it served as a reminder that she has deleted tens of thousands of her own emails and may have attempted to wipe her email server clean.

The Democratic party’s nominee sent the tweet to Trump after the GOP presidential candidate responded critically to President Obama’s endorsement.

Clinton co-opted the popular millennial phrase “delete your account.”

But many users of the social media site spotted the irony in her statement.

Clinton has admitted that in late 2014 she ordered her staffers to delete more than 30,000 emails from her private server. She claims that those emails were personal and not related to her work as secretary of state.

Clinton came under fire in August when she attempted to joke about her email server. Asked by Fox News’ Ed Henry is she had “wiped” the server of its contents, she held up her hand and responded “like with a cloth or something?”
