Appeals Court: Chris Kyle’s Widow Doesn’t Owe Jesse Ventura A Damn Thing

Will Jesse Ventura have to find another widow to torment?

AP:

A federal appeals court on Monday threw out a $1.8 million judgment awarded to former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura, who says he was defamed in the late author Chris Kyle’s bestselling book “American Sniper.”

The 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals rejected the jury’s 2014 award of $500,000 for defamation and $1.3 million for unjust enrichment against Kyle’s estate…

Kyle’s widow, Taya Kyle, appealed the $1.8 million judgment, asking the appeals court to throw out the verdict or at least order a new trial on First Amendment and other grounds.

And now, justice has prevailed.

I can’t wait to hear Ventura’s conspiracy theory about this one. Maybe the people who really did 9/11 also got to the 8th Circuit Court?

This must be especially galling for Ventura, after watching Hulk Hogan win against Gawker. Those guys already hated each other, and now Ventura will have to watch Hogan spend Nick Denton’s money. Meanwhile, Ventura is getting nothing, zero, zilch from the widow of a war hero. Poor, poor Jesse Ventura.
